OS DESAFIOS DA IMPLEMENTAÇÃO DO PLANO NACIONAL DE EDUCAÇÃO 2014-2024: AS METASPARA A EDUCAÇÃO SUPERIOR

Abstract

The present work aims to investigate the process that consolidated the National Education Plan 2014-2024, as the main instrument for the application of educational policies in Brazil. The methodology adopted was bibliographic and documentary research. As a theoretical contribution, we use Azanha (1993), Cardoso (2004), Chizzoti (2005), Cury (2011), among others. The 2014-2024 National Education Plan set the goal of raising the gross and net enrollment rates in higher education, ensuring, however, the quality of supply and expansion. For that, it uses some strategies that aim to increase the offer of both higher education and public vocational education, improving their physical structures and consequently increasing the number of offers. It also seeks to qualify the teaching staff, promoting public education that is a priority for the training of basic education teachers, as well as expanding the number of masters and doctors for higher education, also encouraging research at all levels of education, especially that of higher level. The current National Education Plan faces the same challenges as always, ranging from the transfer of funds for education, to its efficient use.
