| Resumo: | A amamentação oferece benefícios à saúde da mãe bem como do lactente, além de aumentar o vínculo mãe e filho. O leite materno até os 6 meses de vida da criança é o alimento exclusivo e suficiente para o aporte nutricional do lactente, no entanto, o ato de amamentar é multifatorial e nem sempre é possível o seu sucesso. As fórmulas infantis são usadas em substituição do leite materno, porém, nenhuma é capaz de substituir o mesmo em sua composição. O estudo teve por objetivo investigar os fatores associados à utilização de fórmulas infantis e o insucesso da amamentação em pacientes do Centro Municipal de Saúde de Pires do Rio, GO. Trata-se de uma pesquisa de abordagem qualiquantitativa, descritiva e transversal, com aplicação de questionário, no período de setembro a dezembro de 2024. Com a coleta e análise dos dados, verifica-se que o principal fator da interrupção do aleitamento materno e a adesão da utilização de fórmula infantil é devido à falta de leite materno, evidenciando a necessidade do investimento de educação em saúde, para incentivar o aleitamento materno mesmo em condições específicas, como crianças com Alergia à Proteína do Leite de Vaca (APLV). |
| Abstract: | Breastfeeding offers health benefits to both mother and infant, in addition to strengthening the bond between mother and child. Breast milk is the exclusive and sufficient food for the infant's nutritional intake until the child is 6 months old. However, breastfeeding is multifactorial and successful. Infant formulas are used to replace breast milk, but none of them are capable of replacing it in their composition. The study aimed to investigate the factors associated with the use of infant formulas and breastfeeding failure in patients at the Pires do Rio Municipal Health Center, GO. This is a qualitative, quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional research, with the application of a questionnaire, from September to December 2024. With the collection and analysis of data, it is verified that the main factor for the interruption of breastfeeding and the adherence to the use of infant formula is due to the lack of breast milk, highlighting the need for investment in health education, to encourage breastfeeding even in specific conditions, such as children with Cow's Milk Protein Allergy (CMPA). |
