RELATÓRIO DE ESTÁGIO CURRICULAR SUPERVISIONADO: AVICULTURA DE CORTE

Abstract

Pododermatitis is the main disease of the paws of broilers and affects birds of different breeding systems, causing various damage to the health of the bird, affecting its well-being and zootechnical performance. In this study, we aimed to identify which lineage of broiler chicken is most affected by pododermatitis, depending on the type of aviary used in its rearing. Twelve aviaries of the following types were selected: conventional, Blue House, Dark House and Semi Dark, in which we evaluated 90 birds/aviary of three different industrial lines, being Cobb®Male, Ross® and Hubbard®, in a 4x3 factorial scheme (shed types x strains), totaling twelve treatments. The means obtained were compared by the Tukey Test at the level of 5%. The study revealed that the incidence of pododermatitis was higher in conventional aviaries, in which the Ross® strain was the most susceptible to the lesion. However, the Cobb scan® showed a higher incidence of the lesion in Blue House aviaries. Dark House sheds promoted a lower rate of lesions in ross and hubbard® birds®, while Cobb birds were® less affected in Semi Dark aviaries
