LETRAMENTO DE SURDOS: REFLEXÕES ACERCA DA IMPORTÂNCIA DO ENSINO DA LÍNGUA BRASILEIRA DE SINAIS (LIBRAS) PARA CRIANÇAS SURDAS E OUVINTES

Abstract

This research aims to reflect on the importance of teaching Brazilian Sign Language - Libras, in the early years of elementary education, for deaf and hearing students. For this, we sought to analyze the realization of Libras, from its journey in Brazil between absences and emergences, as a key part of the process of effective inclusion of deaf children in education through bilingual literacy. The research is supported by the methodology of bibliographic research, we conducted a survey of studies and research on legislation, Libras, the teaching of Libras and bilingual literacy. In the end, it was observed that, for there is indeed the inclusion of a deaf person, it is essential to recognize the importance of teaching Libras to listeners.
