O “ANO INTERNACIONAL DA TABELA PERIÓDICA” COMO TEMÁTICA PARA UMA SEQUÊNCIA DIDÁTICA DE QUÍMICA PARA ALUNOS DO ENSINO MÉDIO

Abstract

The International Year of the Periodic Table was celebrated in 2019 in honor of the 150th anniversary of the discovery of the first table. This date can serve as an important tool to be worked on in the classroom as a way to approach the History of Science, so that students can understand how the historical process of science is developed and how it undergoes changes over time. In order for this theme to be worked in a meaningful way and closer to the reality of the students, it was proposed, for classes of the 1st grade of high school of a school with the State of Goiás, in the city of Itumbiara - GO, a didactic sequence with the general objective of stimulating learning in chemistry teaching using the theme of the International Year of the Periodic Table. Specific objectives were adopted: to involve students in the celebration of the International Year of the Periodic Table; to relate the study of the Periodic Table and the History of Science with the daily life of the of students, showing the practical use of chemical elements. It was noticed that in the activities developed, the students participated collaboratively, developed the ability to work as a team, autonomy and artistic skills. With the activities carried out it can be concluded that the theme can serve as a good instrument to stimulate learning in the Teaching of Chemistry and History of Science in a more up-to-date and dynamic way, because it allows a variation of methodologies that arouses curiosity and greater participation of students in the teaching-learning process.
