ALFABETIZAÇÃO E LETRAMENTO DE ALUNOS SURDOS

Abstract

This paper shows how deaf students' literacy and literacy process takes place, as well as their inclusion in mainstream education, the dichotomies of special education, and the various ways in which it can occur. The work highlights deaf education, with a special focus on formal learning, the instruction of bilingual teachers, special rooms for deaf students and relevant legislation. Here we will address the history of deaf education and its inclusion in mainstream schools, the differentiation between inclusion and school integration. Vygotsky's conception of language acquisition and phonological awareness will also be analyzed. For the accomplishment of this work an elaborated bibliographical research and a case study was accomplished according to the objectives listed here. We used references from authors that corroborate this research and presentation.
