ANÁLISE TEMPORAL DA EXPANSÃO DO SETOR CERVEJEIRO NA REGIÃO CENTRO-OESTE DO BRASIL

Abstract

The Brazilian brewing sector has experienced significant growth in recent decades, characterized by an increase in the number of breweries and the diversification of products available on the market. In this context, this study aimed to analyze the evolution of the brewing sector in the Central-West Region of Brazil, considering its participation in the national context and the distribution of brewing establishments throughout the region. The research was conducted through a literature review and documentary analysis, using data provided by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA), particularly the Beer Yearbooks published between 2024 and 2026. The results showed that, although the Central-West Region has a smaller share than the South and Southeast regions, the number of registered breweries increased over the period analyzed, reaching 98 establishments in 2025. It was also found that the states of Goiás and Mato Grosso account for most of the breweries in the region, highlighting their prominent role in the sector’s expansion. Furthermore, breweries were identified in several municipalities, indicating a process of decentralization of brewing activities beyond the main urban centers. It is concluded that the brewing market is relevant to the economy of the Central-West Region, due to the presence of producing establishments and its connections with agro-industrial production, gastronomy, tourism, and other related services.
