Abstract

This article explores the importance of storytelling during the early years of elementary school, emphasizing both its theoretical foundations and its practical application in the classroom. The research aims to examine how storytelling helps students’ cognitive, social, and emotional growth, while strengthening the relationship between teacher and child. A bibliographic and documentary methodology was used, involving the analysis of national curricular documents, including the PCNs and the BNCC. The main objective is to investigate the connection between storytelling and the use of textbooks. Specific objectives include the analysis of curricular guidelines and pedagogical strategies that incorporate storytelling into educational practices. The results indicate that this method, when associated with instructional resources, stimulates imagination, promotes language development, and contributes to meaningful learning.
