PRODUTIVIDADE DE VARIEDADES DE ALFACE (LACTUCA SATIVA) CULTIVADAS EM MULCHING DE PLÁSTICO E PAPELÃO

Abstract

The present work aimed to evaluate mulching systems with plastic film and cardboard on lettuce productivity and development. The test was conducted in the experimental area of the IF Goiano Campus Cristalina. The experimental design used was with randomized treatments and split plots, in a 2 x 3 factorial scheme with seven replications. The trained treatments were two varieties of lettuce: Aurelia with a smooth leaf and Lucy Brown with a curly leaf grown in systems without mulching, double-sided mulching, black on the upper side and white on the lower side and recycled paper mulching. Each experimental plot was supplied with 6 plants, with a spacing of 0.3m between plants and 0.5m between rows. To fertilize the beds, tanned farmyard manure was added, applying 50 t/ha, the irrigation system used was drip. The smooth lettuce cultivar Aurélia had higher dry matter in the aerial part and root system compared to the curly variety cultivar Lucy Brown. The types of plastic and paper mulch did not differ among themselves and with the control for the dry matter of the aerial part without mulch in the smooth variety. However, for the curly variety, mulching with plastic showed higher aerial part dry matter compared to recycled paper mulching and the control. In relation to the dry matter of the root system, the treatments did not differ from each other for the curly variety. For the smooth variety, greater dry matter was observed for the treatment with recycled paper mulching in relation to the uncovered control.
