A MORADIA ESTUDANTIL DO IF GOIANO - CAMPUS CERES COMO ESPAÇO FORMATIVO: MEMÓRIAS DE EGRESSOS

Abstract

This dissertation was developed in the Graduate Program in Professional and Technological Education (ProfEPT), offered by the Federal Institute of Goiás, and aimed to understand the experiences lived by resident students, grasping conceptions, values, and memories, correlating them with student assistance policies within a context of human and comprehensive education. The study employed a qualitative methodological approach of the case study type, focusing on the narratives of alumni, managers, and teachers directly involved with student housing at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Goiano – Ceres Campus. The investigated population includes graduates over 18 years old who are beneficiaries of the Student Housing of the institution, as well as educational leaders and staff linked to student assistance, totaling seven participants among managers, professors, and graduates from the years 2010 to 2020. The data collection was carried out through semi-structured interviews and document analysis, allowing for a rich understanding of the developments related to the training process of resident students, both as learners and as citizens. The research aimed to explore how student housing contributes to this development, considering the environment of collective living and the all-round formation of the student. The data analysis was conducted through successive readings and observations of the bibliographic data and interviews; comparing recurring information and content analysis to extract meanings and nuances from the reported experiences. The results indicate that student housing transcends its role of physical and financial accommodation, establishing itself as a space of utmost importance for learning, social interaction, and the formation of values. In this regard, the educational product, a student guide for residents, in digital format (e-book), developed as a result of this research, provides essential information about the routine of student housing, regulations, service hours, and services offered by student assistance, facilitating the integration of new students into the institution. The product was validated with unanimous acceptance among the participants. It is concluded that the student housing at IF Goiano – Ceres Campus plays a crucial role in the education of students, going beyond its function of physical and financial support, establishing itself as a place of learning, social interaction, and value formation. It is crucial that the institution continues to value and invest in this environment, implementing structural improvements and expanding communication with its residents, to ensure that the home remains a place for the formation of citizenship, equality, and holistic growth. The memories of former students highlight that, for many, the student residence was the crucial factor that enabled not only the completion of their studies but also personal development. Thus, its consolidation and improvement are inalienable obligations for the future of inclusive and high-quality education at IF Goiano.
