Abstract: | Biostimulants have potential on physiological, biochemical and molecular processes capable of enhancing results in gains in biomass, production and nutritional components in plants. This study aimed to evaluate three biostimulants based on seaweed Ascophyllum nodosum (Biozyme, STPro and Stingray) regarding gains in fresh and dry mass, productivity and nutritional components in radish (Raphanus sativus L.) cultivar “Vip Crimson Special Selection". The experiment was carried out in pots in full sun with seeds inoculated with three biostimulants. Thirty-five days after sowing, radish plants were collected and analyzed for number of leaves, fresh and dry mass of leaves; diameter, length, fresh and dry mass and proximate composition of radish roots. The aerial part presented an average of 5 leaves per plant, not differing between the three biostimulants, for fresh/dry leaf mass with best results observed for Biozyme and Stingray of 22.86 and 25.75 g and between 1.66 and 1.86 g respectively , although they did not differ statistically. The average diameter was 4 cm, however, there was no significant difference between the three products, for the length and fresh mass of radish roots inoculated with Stingray, they presented an average of 6.37 cm and 58.32 g higher than the other treatments and control. The dry mass of the roots averaged between 1 and 2 g, however, there was no significant difference between the biostimulants, although higher than the control. The content of macronutrients N, K, Ca, Mg and S showed gains in treatment with Stingray biostimulant, for micronutrients Cu showed superior results for treatment with Stingray, Fe for Biozyme and Stingray biostimulants, Mn for STPro biostimulant and Zn for Biozyme . The use of biostimulants based on extract from the seaweed Ascophyllum nodosum, demonstrated positive effects on vegetative increases, production and macro and micronutrient levels for the radish crop cultivar “Vip Crimson Special Selection). |
