RELÁTORIO DE ESTÁGIO SUPERVISIONADO/ CASO NÃO CLÁSSICO- PÊNFIGO FOLIÁCEO DISSEMINADO EM UM CADELA - APRESENTAÇÃO CLÍNICA ATÍPICA

Abstract

Canine pemphigus foliaceus is an autoimmune dermatosis, in which the animal produces autoantibodies (IgG 4) against components responsible for the intercellular adhesion of epidermal cells to desmosomes (Desmoglein 1), thus causing disorders in the skin and mucous membranes such as bullous vesicles or pustules, due to the deposition of autoantibodies in the intercellular space of epidermal cells resulting in their separation in the most superficial layers leading to their acantholysis. This condition is difficult to diagnose because clinical signs are found in several dermatopathies. The objective of this report was to detail the clinical signs presented by the patient together with the methods used to obtain the conclusive diagnosis and the entire treatment process in view of the clinical picture and the response of the animal to the method chosen to treat the patient diagnosed with canine pemphigus foliaceus. To this end, we report a case of a canine, mixed breed, female, fertile, seven years old, weighing 11, 600 kg, which was diagnosed with Pemphigus Foliaceus. After a more detailed analysis of the cutaneous lesions in the axillary and inguinal regions, a histopathological examination was carried out which diagnosed the dermatopathy. Elective treatment for the disease with the use of Prednisolone and Azathioprine was instituted, considering its response to the clinical picture and cost-effectiveness. Thus, it is concluded that the prescribed treatment significantly resulted in the healing of the skin lesions, with a view to the remission of clinical signs and recovery of the patient.
