GÊNERO NO CONTEXTO DA FORMAÇÃO DE PROFESSORES DE QUÍMICA: UM ESTUDO DE CASO

Abstract

In the course of the history of Brazilian education, as well as in the construction of Science, we experience a macho, elitist, white, Eurocentric, cisheteronormative and androcentric society, which imposes several obstacles on the trajectory of women. The gender theme, with its heterogeneity, seeks to break the paradigms pre-established by society in all areas, be it academic, professional, economic and/or social. Thinking about these aspects, the present research aims to analyze the PPC of the Degree in Chemistry course at the Instituto Federal Goiano - Campus Urutaí, seeking to identify how the curricular matrix of the course contemplates gender issues and how this theme is approached in the training process of chemistry teachers.The research in question is a case study with a qualitative approach, in which the data collection was carried out in the PPC elaborated by the Degree Course in Chemistry of the Federal Institute of Goiano - Campus Urutaí. From the research, we observed that gender discussions in the PPCs of the course are scarce, causing damage and weaknesses in the teachers' training process in this regard. Therefore, it is expected that this study will be relevant for the Chemistry Licentiate course at IF Goiano – Campus Urutaí, so that training actions that promote gender discussions are rethought and implemented.
