Abstract

The present work discusses education for the deaf and the teaching of Libras for Elementary School students. the inclusion of deaf students in society. The objective of the study is to identify the different elements that make up the education of deaf students in Elementary School I, especially the teaching of Libras, with emphasis on the methodologies used in this teaching-learning process. Based on these assumptions, the question that governs the research reflections is the following: What are the methodologies in the teaching of Libras aimed at the inclusion of deaf students in Elementary School I? The deaf student is a subject of law, complex and inserted in a health condition that deserves its due attention. His performance in the world should not be disregarded, on the contrary, it needs to be valued more and more, certain that, from a liberating and emancipatory education, he has full capacity to modify his reality as an active and sensitive subject to the problems of the world.
