RACISMO ESTRUTURAL: QUESTÕES ÉTNICAS NO AMBIENTE ESCOLAR

Abstract

The theme analyzed aims to discuss the structural racism ethnic issues in the school environment. In Brazil, it is experienced by black people since their arrival in the ports brought by Portuguese ships to exploit slave labor. This later became a big mass problem during the construction of the Brazilian society. Creating in the black race/color a stereotype of disfavor, violence, cruelty and even mass murders, which are portrayed through the history of the formation of the Brazilian people, data and research done by the Institute of Applied Economics Research (IPEA) and the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). The objective of this work is to point out the structural racism: Ethical questions in the school environment by means of the black social-historical process, legislations that were inserted in its benefit, authors' notes and statistical data as for education, income, housing and education. The methodology applied is a bibliographic review through books, articles, laws, and electronic documents. The results presented showed that black people live in a cruel, unequal and disrespectful society in Brazil, regarding politics, economy, education, health, housing, work and leisure. It is necessary to consider that public policies and prejudice regarding color/race are still strong in contemporary society
