A CONTRIBUIÇÃO DA LITERATURA INFANTIL PARA CRIANÇAS PEQUENAS

Abstract

The theme of this paper is The Contribution of Children's Literature to Young Children and the essential role that support from the family and the educational team play in child development. The purpose of this work is to analyze the contributions of Children’s Literature to young children. This research aims to answer the following question: What is the contribution of children's literature to young children? The role of the educational and family systems is considered to be allies in literacy and the readers' formation. Therefore, they need to be involved in the children's teaching and learning process so their contribution can become significant. This research is qualitative and bibliographical and, in terms of objectives, an exploratory study. The most relevant authors used in this research were Abramovich (1994), Coelho (2000), and Gil (2010). In the results and discussions, Children's Literature contributes to the improvement of reading in young children in a pleasant way through children's books and can be considered the guardian of human culture for their entire life. It is considered that Children's Literature is fundamental in the child's knowledge construction, and the teacher has an essential role in this edification of the fondness and motivation for reading.
