Abstract

Soy production plays a very important role in the Brazilian economy, with Brazil being the largest producer and exporter of the oilseed in the world. Therefore, in order to continue to increase productivity, it is necessary to use technologies and apply effective management techniques. Chemical control is widely used to control weeds that can compete with the crop and hinder its development. The present work aims to determine which pre-emergent herbicides have the best efficiency in controlling weeds, reducing interference by weed competition in soybean. Commercial products were used: Profit®, Boral®, Spider®, Stone®, Flumyzin® and Zethamaxx®, with different dosages and concentrations for each product. For the standard treatment, Glyphosate, Haloxyfop and mineral oil were used, and the control did not receive herbicide application. Control efficiency, phytotoxicity, shoot dry mass and soybean yield were evaluated. For control efficiency, Sulfentrazone was highlighted in all evaluations, but high phytotoxicity averages. The application of pre-emergent herbicides caused an increase in productivity when compared to the control, reaffirming the importance of using herbicides in soybean crops to combat weeds.
