DESEMPENHO PRODUTIVO E STATUS SANITÁRIO DE BOVINOS CONFINADOS SUBMETIDOS A PROTOCOLOS SANITÁRIOS PRÉ CONFINAMENTO

Abstract

The objective of this study was to evaluate the weight gain and economic viability of using vitamin B12 and enrofloxacin in animals confined in the state of Goiás, where three groups with 60 animals were followed for a period of 90 days. The standard protocol of the property was maintained in the three treatments. The first group was submitted to metaphylaxis with enrofloxacin and vitamin B12 and was designated TIP. The second group underwent metaphylaxis with only vitamin B12 in a lower dose and was designated 10CA and the third group, which received metaphylaxis with vitamin B12 in a higher dose was designated 20CA. In all treatments, production and health standards were evaluated, financial analyzes were also carried out to economically validate the method. It was observed that the DICA treatment showed a higher average daily gain (GMD) than the animals of the 10CA treatment, demonstrating that the use of enrofloxacin provided a higher gain, and the animals submitted to 20CA metaphylaxis had higher GMD and average total weight (GMT) to animals from other treatments, also being the one with the highest cost, justifying the investment.
