Abstract

In structural engineering, updating and innovation is often done through the exchange of information that takes place in the academic-scientific environment through paper published by technical and scientific journals. It is known that the proximity of the academic environment with the scientific community is important, something that should occur since graduation; however, frequently, undergraduate students end up graduating without due contact with the scientific environment. This usually occurs due to the lack of guidance that students have to access existing content. In this way, this work aimed to facilitate the research process in scientific journals related to structural engineering using research tools to access journals with a qualis classification A1 and A2 in the area of civil engineering. The first step was to find an effective tool to carry out this search. The LetPub tool was found, which provided better access to the characteristics of each existing journal in these classifications. As a result, tables were obtained containing all the journals of these classifications, separated by specialty, thus making it easier to find those focused on concrete, metal or wood structures. It was concluded that the number of journals related to the area of structures in the A1 and A2 classifications is significantly reduced (6.61% and 7.89% respectively), which requires that researchers in this area require prior knowledge of these journals both to update the researched topics, as well as to direct their research to the magazine that has the most affinity with the researched topic.
