ETNOBOTÂNICA GOIANA: LEVANTAMENTO BIBLIOMÉTRICO DA PRODUÇÃO CIENTÍFICA

Abstract

The Brazilian Cerrado is the second largest neotropical biome in South America, has an enormous plant richness, with more than 11,000 species of vascular plants already identified. The biome in the country is in an advanced state of anthropization and fragmentation, including the area that covers the state of Goiás. Within this scenario the ethnobotanical research proposes the promotion of works of sustainable nature and valorization of the empirical knowledge of human societies. and may contribute to the protection of the biome. About 80% of the population of the state of Goiás makes or has used medicinal plants, a tradition that is involved with the cultural formation of the state. The aim of this study is to conduct a qualitative and quantitative bibliometric survey about the scientific production on ethnobotany in the state of Goiás. The results indicate that the theme is still little addressed, and that there is a low rate of publications on cultural knowledge. of state medicinal plants.
