ANAIS DO VI INTEGRA DO INSTITUTO FEDERAL GOIANO CIÊNCIA, CULTURA E TRABALHO NA ERA DA INFODEMIA

Abstract

Integra IF Goiano will reach its sixth edition in 2024 as an event that, each year, reaffirms its importance among the academic community of the Instituto Federal Goiano. Conceived in 2019, the 1st Integra took place at the Ceres Campus and reflected the purpose of IF Goiano to integrate its 12 campuses, providing a meeting, in one of its units, of students, professors, civil servants, technical-administrative staff and external participants, aiming to create an environment in which projects and actions developed in the areas of research, teaching and extension could be shared. The institutional goal envisioned proved to be an extremely productive and successful experience with great potential for expansion. However, in 2020 we were startled by the spread of Covid-19, which inaugurated the impactful pandemic period. Demonstrating great capacity for adaptation, that same year, the Morrinhos Campus held the II Integra, in a remote format. What seemed like a novelty, due to health restrictions, ended up becoming an everyday reality for all of us. In this sense, the III Integra, organized by the Iporá Campus, in 2021, and the IV Integra, hosted by the Urutaí Campus, in 2022, were also held remotely. The continuity of Integra, during these three years, demonstrated not only its vigor and the institutional relevance directed at the event, but also the willingness of the IF Goiano community to resist that adverse scenario, not interrupting its research, teaching and extension activities. In 2023, the V Integra returns to its in-person format and the Trindade Campus, responsible for the organization, corroborated the vitality and robustness of this event, especially when human interactions mediated by physical contact are possible. Now, in 2024, the responsibility of hosting the VI Integra IF Goiano has been transferred to the Hidrolândia Campus. This sixth edition proposes the following theme for reflection and discussion: Science, Culture and Work in the Age of Infodemic. The current relevance of this theme is based on the urgency of discussing the ways in which the excessive volume of information and the consequent dissemination of misinformation have impacted human life and reverberated on the relationships we establish with nature and among ourselves, not only from a social, political and cultural point of view, but also on the ways in which we produce science and disseminate it to the general public. In a world marked by this infodemic, in which information is produced on a scale never seen before, circulating very quickly, it is crucial that, as an institution of professional and technological education, we reflect on the effects of this phenomenon on science, culture and work. In addition to an academic aspect, Integra IF Goiano presents itself as an event that seeks to foster the diversity of scientific, technological, social and cultural knowledge, as well as demonstrating its ability to promote the strengthening of relations between the community of the Instituto Federal Goiano, and between the community and society, making public what our institution is capable of producing and delivering to it in terms of scientific production, innovation and pedagogical, social and cultural interventions.
