Abstract: | This study assessed the potential of different exogenous substances to increase drought tolerance in soybean plants (Glycine max). Given the significance of soybean production in the national and international agricultural scenario, particularly in the context of climate change, the research investigated how extreme climatic events, such as droughts, affect the growth and development of soybeans. The experiment was conducted under controlled conditions using the cultivar "Brasmax Valente RR (6968 RSF)". Two water treatments were applied: normal conditions and water deficit. Additionally, formulations containing proline, glycinebetaine, potassium, and nitric oxide at different concentrations were tested to mitigate the effects of water stress on plants. The results indicated that the formulations, especially F3, were more effective in maintaining water potential and relative water content in the leaves of plants under water deficit conditions. This demonstrated positive impacts on gas exchange, stomatal conductance, and electron transport, contributing to the maintenance of photosynthesis even under water stress. |
