O MULTICULTURALISMO E SUA IMPORTÂNCIA NA EDUCAÇÃO INFANTIL

Abstract

This article addresses the issue of respect, appreciation and diversity of existing cultures in the country and within the school community. Its theme is Multiculturalism and its Importance in Early Childhood Education. Bringing the question of knowing, interacting, discovering, growing, as well as the study of the existing diversity and its particularities, the article leverages the student's reality so that he can be inserted into society as a citizen of well and that respect diversity. Brazil is a preponderantly multifaceted country. The multiculturalism of the country and this Brazilian diversity is unlimited: customs, traditions, legends and beliefs constitute the imaginary of the Brazilian people. Consistingabnt of a multiplicity of identities and ways of being, blacks, whites, indigenous people, women, men belonging to a miscegenated society that was instructed throughout Brazilian historiography through educational policies with a monocultural orientation, which privileged men, white, straight, Christian, and financially advantaged. The recognition of multiculturalism in the context of Brazilian education is a matter of social justice, based on human rights and articulated with educational praxis. In this way, the discussion of multiculturalism in the pedagogical field embraces a clear position in favor of the fight against oppression and the perception that certain minority groups have historically been protected by more powerful groups.
