SISTEMA DE MUDAS PRÉ-BROTADAS EM CANA-DE-AÇÚCAR: HISTÓRICO E PERSPECTIVAS

Abstract

Sugarcane is an expressive crop in Brazil, presenting impressive numbers within the Brazilian agricultural scenario. Through its dissemination in the state of Goias and the need to increase the quality standard, the objective was to build a review of the previous literature, as well as to report the concept, benefits and diffusion of the propagation technique via the pre-sprouted seedling system in sugarcane, considering the history and perspectives. Knowledge of planting and cultivation alternatives is essential for the agronomy professional and for the producer, who will be able to evaluate the most viable and profitable means, therefore, the topic is of great social and academic relevance. The objective of the present study was to build a review of the previous literature, as well as to present the findings about the pre-sprouted seedling system in sugarcane, presenting the history and perspectives. It is known that the sugar-energy sector, like the others, seeks to achieve greater productivity with reduced cost through innovations, such as the propagation technique to be studied. As for the system of pre-sprouted seedlings (PSS), it was observed through the consulted articles that it makes it possible to obtain more expressive results in the field, generating seedlings of high phytosanitary value, reducing their quantity in the field, with greater uniformity and reduction of failures in the sugarcane fields, in addition to minimizing pests and diseases, thus generating healthier plants. It is concluded that there are good prospects for this new system of production of sugarcane seedlings, however, it is necessary to reduce the cost of production for the expansion of this technology.
