LIXO ELETRÔNICO: O DESCARTE DO LIXO ELETRÔNICO NO LIXÃO DE ITAPACI AOS OLHOS DOS ALUNOS DO 3º ANO ENSINO MÉDIO DA ESCOLA ESTADUAL LUIZ ALVES MACHADO

Abstract

E-waste is a hotly debated topic today. Identified by solid waste that has no more uses, considered unimportant, generated by the actions of humanity. Technology involves the vast majority of people in the world, in this sense teenagers and children make up most of these users. However, when these electronic wastes are discarded in inappropriate places such as vacant lots or common dumps, they can release highly toxic substances causing major problems to the environment and human health. This work presented a study in order to verify the knowledge of the students regarding the disposal and the intention of the practice of the correct disposal of electronic waste. Therefore, through a bibliographic research, we sought to understand the problems of incorrect disposal of electronic waste in the world and in Brazil. Then, a research was carried out through the application of a questionnaire made in google forms, with three classes of the (3rd) years of High School at Escola Estadual Luiz Alves Machado in the city of Itapaci - Goiás, containing objective questions to know to what extent knowledge on the subject is available. Thus, it was possible to perceive a certain degree of knowledge on the part of the students regarding the disposal of electronic waste and the environmental impacts caused by the wrong disposal of this electronic waste. Through the 53 responses from the institution's students, it was possible to perceive that they have a brief knowledge about what electronic waste is and the problems caused when disposed of incorrectly. Since, a certain amount of students showed interest in making the discards correctly and the others showed no importance on the respective subject.
