AVALIAÇÃO DO COMPORTAMENTO DE VACAS LEITEIRAS NO MOMENTO DA ORDENHA

Abstract

One of the ways to promote an increase in milk production without having additional expenses is the better use of animals on a rural property. Therefore, it is important to think about adopting food and health management strategies and good genetics. However, it is noteworthy that the welfare part is of great importance and can lead to economic losses for the producer when the animals are not handled correctly. Using techniques that increase animal welfare, external factors that negatively affect cows are reduced, for example, thus increasing milk production. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of behavioral factors at the time of milking on milk production. The results obtained were calm animals, in addition to the observation of a significant correlation between the variables urination and recoil. Pearson's correlation value between urination behavior and milk production was a weak negative correlation although significant (r = -0,21).
