ONDE PROCURAR ESPÉCIES DA FLORA DO CERRADO DEFICIENTE DE DADOS?

Abstract

Many studies on biodiversity represent research on knowledge deficits in the Cerrado domain, considered one of the world's hotspots; numerous plant species are inserted in the Walacean knowledge gap and evaluated as DD (Deficient of Data) by the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature). This study aimed to map the ecological niche of DD species occurring in the Cerrado of Sudoeste Goiano. To this end, we carried out the research in the red book of flora in Brazil, in REFLORA and in Splink, finding four species with this profile. Using the “R” software we simulate the possible places of occurrence of DD species in the studied area. This methodology to reduce the aim is to reduce the Walacean gap, reducing costs in future work of the species in situ. The results showed that the species I. argentea, M. tenella, A. malmeana, F. procera. occur in the Cerrado of Southwest Goiano and are DD. The maps now elaborated make it possible to predict the areas of occurrence of these species, thus helping the costs of collecting and managing these species in the field. The expansion of knowledge about DD and other threatened species represents a strong tool in the implementation of public policies that favor the conservation of biodiversity in the Cerrado domain. In addition to studies of this nature, we recommend that measures be taken to reduce changes in ecosystems, preserving the flora and their interrelationships in the Cerrado, with a view to future research.
