ANÁLISE COMPARATIVA DAS SUTURAS DE ANIMAIS DOMÉSTICOS E SILVETRES DO LABORATÓRIO DE ANATOMIA DO INSTITUTO FEDERL GOIANO - CAMPUS CERES

Abstract

Anatomy is characterized as the science that enables the morphological and structural analysis of living beings, especially vertebrate animals, which are classified as wild or domestic. The skull is a primordial structure of the skeletal system, as it is responsible for protecting vital organs, and the individual bones are joined through cranial sutures, which are found in both domestic animals and wild animals. Understanding the relevance of cranial sutures, this work performed a comparative analysis to recognize the prevalence of these structures in the skulls of domestic and wild animals from the bone collection of the anatomy laboratory of the Instituto Federal Goiano – Campus Ceres. Nine skulls of domestic and wild animals were chosen, in which we carried out the identification of species and comparison of cranial sutures through veterinary medicine books. According to the analyses, we verified as a result that domestic and wild animals have and share some cranial sutures among themselves, in relation to the predominance and absence of these structures, they may be associated with the disposition of individual bones or even with the synostosis process.
