Abstract: | In the Brazilian context the tomato crop corresponds to an expressive activity, being the state of Goiás the highlight in the production of industrial tomato. Extreme is the importance of improvements in the irrigation management of this crop, being, therefore, water deficit has been studied aiming to define the best time of water reduction and the intensity of this technique. This work was developed with the purpose of evaluating the effect of the water deficit on the productivity and quality of the industrial tomato. The experiment was carried out in an automated greenhouse at the Agronomy School of the Federal University of Goiás, with two stages. Both were randomized blocks, with five replications, in which treatments were factorial in two water deficit start dates, but the first stage being at 10 and 20 days after transplanting and the second stage being soon after observing the color change of the first fruit 45 and 35. In addition, there were three soil water stresses (40, 60 and 70 kPa), and a treatment without water stress, in which it maintained 30 kPa. The results allowed to conclude that it hears interference of the treatments in the productive and qualitative characteristics of the fruits. However, it presented higher production in the treatment without water deficit and in treatment submitted to 60 kPa starting at 10 days after transplanting. |
