A MATEMÁTICA FINANCEIRA DA ESCOLA PARA O COTIDIANO

Abstract

Financial Mathematics is a branch of Mathematics of fundamental importance for the student's habitual use. It is a very relevant topic in our society and the school has an important role to play in the financial education of students, and can contribute positively to their reality. However, the teaching of Financial Mathematics contents within the Mathematics discipline itself is not enough to fulfill the role of training citizens and to promote Financial Education if it is not contextualized in real or realistic situations, and can be worked in a closer way to the student. Thus, we have to discuss and analyze how the contents of Financial Mathematics are inserted in the school context and, in a complementary way, leads us to approach this theme in the scope of Financial Education, aiming to approach the didactic ideas pertinent to the teaching and learning of these contents, mainly some questions with the objective of clarifying this problem better and advancing in reflections related to each case linked to the reality experienced. It can contribute much to the training of students, showing that they are able to exercise their citizenship, demand that their rights as citizen and consumer, be respected, not forgetting their duties. Given this context, the tendency is to characterize this work considering the students as always active participants, aiming to recognize the importance of financial education and reflect its influence on the lives of students. The methodology used in this work was the bibliographical research, in order to show what authors have been discussing about the subject and to demonstrate that the knowledge of Financial Mathematics taught to the students in a perspective of Financial Education for life, motivate the learner for meaningful learning of the curricular contents, in order to promote understanding of the concepts of each content and at the same time that they instrumentalize them for life.
