Abstract

The purpose of the present study is to address the premise over the years that considers the study of mathematics as the most complex area of the school curriculum for students and teachers, becoming an obstacle in the academic life of most students in the current school setting. The difficulties in the process of teaching learning become even more evident in the face of the erroneous thinking that persists in the minds of students and teachers in relation to the discipline. This project has as its main basis the area of mathematics that covers the study of geometry in the initial grades, with emphasis on studies and research that make it possible to identify possible obstacles during the learning process. In this context, the following points will be addressed: The didactic materials used during geometry classes; the training and dedication of teachers in relation to teaching and the interest of students during the process of teaching learning.
