A LITERATURA INFANTIL E O TRATAMENTO DE QUESTOES ÉTNICO-RACIAIS NOS ANOS INICIAIS DO ENSINO FUNDAMENTAL

Abstract

This work aims to discuss the importance of the use of children's literary texts for the treatment of ethnic-racial issues in the early years of elementary school. Through a bibliographical research, it was possible to demonstrate how children's literature can be used in the valuation of the black child and how it is a great ally in the deconstruction of racist stereotypes inside and outside the classrooms. We sought to present a reflection on children 's literature, the process of students' socialization in schools and the treatment given to the question in the didactic and para - natal textbooks analyzed. We observe that this whole process can negatively influence the self-esteem and the formation of the identity of the black culture. We realize that there are texts aimed at this public that contribute greatly to combat the discrimination and racism that children face in a declared or hidden way in school and social spaces and that its correct use also depends on the teacher training and the instruments used for this fight, Among which children's literature is a key element to promote the appreciation of the history and culture of the black people.
