A REPRESENTAÇÃO DO NEGRO NA LITERATURA INFANTIL GOIANA

Abstract

The aim of this dissertation was to analyze the representation of black people in children's literature from Goiás. It looks at the history of children's literature in Brazil, analyzing its transformations and the social representations present in it. We investigated, through a bibliographical review, the use of this literature in schools, pedagogical purposes and its role in educational policies, aiming to understand its trajectory and impact on Brazilian society. The dissertation is based on the methodology of social representation according to Moscovici. In this sense, we analyze the perspectives of various authors on the representation of the black population in goiana children's literature, highlighting racism in Brazil and its manifestation in literature. We addressed everything from the invisibility of the black population to stereotypes. The knowledge acquired through the analysis of literature from Goiás will assume the responsibility and social commitment of progressively raising the awareness of readers and publishers so that there is a thorough look at this issue, alerting them to the importance of having literature that represents black people in a positive way. Based on the data, a guidance manual was created to be presented to writers, editors, academics, teachers and other professionals involved in the production and dissemination of children's literature, encouraging the representation of black people from Goiás without stereotypes.
