AUTISMO E TECNOLOGIA: UMA REVISÃO CRÍTICA DA LITERATURA SOBRE INCLUSÃO DIGITAL

Abstract

With the constant advancement of technology, it becomes increasingly more relevant in our lives. One of the benefits of technology is related to promoting quality of life for people, including those with disabilities such as: visual, mental, physical, learning disorders and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Autism is a syndrome that affects people's progress, resulting in difficulties with verbal expression, social interaction and repetitive actions. This research carried out a survey of the state of the art in the field of digital inclusion for individuals with autism, through a review of the most recent academic literature. In this sense, relevant and high-impact studies were identified and analyzed that addressed the categories of digital inclusion, new technologies and autism. The survey was conducted through the analysis of dissertations and theses available in the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD) and in the catalog of theses and dissertations of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES). In this work, dissertations and theses that addressed assistive technologies and digital inclusion for people with autism spectrum disorders were examined, where it was possible to identify the resources and main tools used to develop skills and knowledge for people with ASD. Thus highlighting the effective contributions of these tools, evaluating the possible challenges encountered by researchers during the implementation of such technologies. The active principle of the results of this research is to contribute to deepening knowledge on this topic, as an incentive for new investigations, which promote digital inclusion and the development of new technologies for autistic students.
