EDUCAÇÃO AMBIENTAL: A COMPOSTAGEM COMO RECURSO PEDAGÓGICO

Abstract

The current scenario of pollution has a series of consequences on the environment and public health, such as the latest problem with the inadequate disposal of solid waste in open-air dumps. Therefore, practices and behaviors are sought to be adopted with the purpose of minimizing and mitigating such gaps, thus one of the approaches adopted by municipalities is Environmental Education. This procedure, however, requires strategies to put it into practice so that effective knowledge and awareness of the individual is possible, one of these ways is the use of composting in formal and non-formal learning environments, which is classified as an alternative for the environmentally friendly disposal of solid waste. Thus, the aim of this work was to evaluate composting as a pedagogical tool, seeking to analyze the ways that composting has been worked on in environmental education and its purposes as means of reaching society through environmental awareness. As a qualitative bibliographical review, in which a survey was carried out in books and scientific articles descriptive data on this theme, in a total of 6 (six) articles after performing the selection and filtering according to the presence of the practice of composting. Data were obtained that prove its effectiveness through the way it has been worked in the search for environmental awareness, configuring itself as an interdisciplinary instrument in schools for the promotion of Environmental Education.
