A IMPORTÂNCIA DA LEITURA ATRAVÉS DA LITERATURA INFANTIL

Abstract

Reading is a very important practice for all people, as it leads them to acquire new knowledge and to become more autonomous, engaged and participatory in the environment in which they live. Having the habit of reading, however, is not something common to all people, as many of them have not even learned to read and others have not developed this habit and only use this practice in everyday situations that require it. Faced with this situation, interest in this research topic arose, which aims to discuss the importance of encouraging the habit of reading, using children's literature as a resource, a resource that is rich and diversified and that can help families and institutions of teaching to bring children and young people closer to the habit of reading. The methodology used in the study is based on literature reviews by authors such as Cagliari (1989), Bräkling (2003), Brito (2010), among others who discuss the topic proposed in the research. There is a need to invest in the development of processes that encourage the habit of reading, as it is not common to all people and children's literature proves to be an important tool in this process, as it stimulates imagination, creativity, brings together types of differentiated texts and even those who cannot read can find this resource a source of interest and stimulation.
