OS PRINCIPAIS DESAFIOS E DEMANDAS DA FORMAÇÃO INICIAL DE PROFESSORES DE MATEMÁTICA ENTRE 2016 E 2020 NO BRASIL

Abstract

Bearing in mind the problems of basic education in Brazil, especially in relation to teaching-learning mathematics, we sought to look at one of the many possible causes of problems in basic education, which is the initial training of mathematics teachers. Thus, it sought to research the challenges and demands of the initial training of mathematics teachers to work in basic education, in order to identify and discuss them. First, some characteristics of the teaching profession, of the knowledge that these professionals must have, were addressed, so it sought to investigate the challenges and demands of initial teacher education in general, then specifically, on the initial education of mathematics teachers. A bibliographic and documentary research was then carried out in academic papers published between 2016 and 2020. It was concluded that the formation of mathematics teachers faces many challenges and demands, and it stands out, among other demands and challenges, to train reflective teachers when their practice, as well as preparing teachers to work with new technologies.
