BACIA HIDROGRÁFICA DO RIO AREIAS (GO, BRASIL): ANÁLISE DA MORFOMETRIA E DO USO E OCUPAÇÃO DO SOLO

Abstract

In order to analyze the main impacts that human actions can cause within a river basin, this study aims to present an analysis of the physiometry and morphometry aspects of the Areias River basin, in the municipalities of Águas Lindas de Goiás, Alexânia, Cocalzinho de Goiás, Corumbá de Goiás and Santo Antônio do Descoberto in the State of Goiás. It is also intended to analyze land use and occupation and their impact on the basin's hydrography. For this, geoprocessing tools such as QGis and Google Earth were used, as well as data collection from Mapbiomas, IBGE, the State Secretariat for the Environment of Goiás and the National Agency for Water and Basic Sanitation (ANA). Data analysis resulted in studies on rainfall rates, flow of the main river, soil and vegetation characteristics, water withdrawal and consumption and population growth, and how land use and occupation in the Areias river basin have affected its hydrological cycle and morphometry.
