Abstract: This study consists of a technical and social diagnosis of household solid waste (HSW) management in the municipality of Itumbiara, Goiás, structured to evaluate local compliance with the guidelines of the National Solid Waste Policy. The central objective is to analyze the gravimetric composition of household waste in Itumbiara to provide a basis for more sustainable public management strategies. The methodology adopted was comprehensive, integrating the survey of historical weighing records, the application of social perception questionnaires with residents, and the execution of gravimetric characterization tests using the quartering method on representative samples from urban collection routes. The study addresses the waste cycle in its entirety, from citizen behavior regarding source segregation to the logistical challenges faced by the municipal administration. By cross-referencing data on organic matter, recyclables, and hazardous waste fractions with the community’s perspective, the research highlights the need for regional and educational management. It is concluded that organic waste is the predominant fraction in the municipality and that recyclable materials account for approximately 21.2% of the sample, indicating the viability of expanding selective collection and supporting waste picker cooperatives.

Abstract: The growth of agribusiness in Brazil has intensified the demand for adequate grain storage structures, making environmental licensing a fundamental instrument for controlling and mitigating the environmental impacts associated with this activity. In this context, the present study aimed to analyze and systematize the procedures required for the environmental licensing process of general grain storage facilities in the municipality of Rio Verde, Goiás, focusing on the legal and environmental compliance of such enterprises. The methodology adopted was based on documentary and bibliographic research, including the analysis of current environmental legislation, applicable technical standards, and regulatory documents issued by the Municipal Department of Environment (SEMMA). The results demonstrated that municipal licensing presents a comprehensive set of technical and administrative requirements, involving different types of environmental permits, as well as the need for continuous compliance with environmental conditions to ensure the conformity of enterprises. The study also identified procedural bottlenecks and the need for greater administrative standardization in order to optimize environmental analysis workflows. It is concluded that environmental licensing constitutes a strategic instrument for environmental planning and management, contributing to the organization of the sector, the reduction of environmental impacts, and the strengthening of municipal environmental governance.

Abstract: The objective of the work was to create an alternative for the recovery of a spring that is located
in a rural property in the municipality of Turvelândia - GO. It was necessary to assess the
situation of the place, and understand the changes that are necessary to bring about a good
alternative. The importance and need for water in general was also an issue addressed, as well as
the difference between water and water resource. The restoration of the cerrado, in the case of
riparian forests, gallery forests, is something that must be approached in a practical way and of
great relevance to the importance of conservation of the biodiversity of the Brazilian cerrado.
KEYWORD: spring, water, recovery, restoration of the cerrado.

Abstract: The monitoring of surface waters is a highly relevant activity for water resources management. Among the available monitoring alternatives is the use of spatial tools, such as remote sensing. Thus, this study aimed to test spectral index models, surface turbidity, chlorophyll-a, and the Trophic State Index (TSI) in urban lentic water bodies of Rio Verde, Goiás, for the year 2023. Surface reflectance data obtained by the OLI sensor onboard the Landsat 8 satellite were used, provided by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) and reprojected for the southern hemisphere. The images were acquired through the Google Earth Engine platform. The spectral indices NDTI, NDWI, turbidity, chlorophyll-a, and TSI were calculated from surface reflectance using models widely disseminated in the literature. Data processing was performed using QGIS and R software. Regarding the results, greater variability in the analyzed indices was observed during the dry period, especially in May, along with higher turbidity values in December and lower ones in June, evidencing that climatic conditions directly influence water quality. These variations are associated with increased surface runoff or reduced water volume, which limits the dilution of nutrients and suspended solids, actively contributing to the degradation of aquatic ecosystems. The study areas were identified as eutrophic, according to the classification of the Trophic State Index proposed by Lamparelli (2004), showing moderate nutrient levels and the initial formation of phytoplankton. The applicability of turbidity models to the region was verified, as well as the identification of possible effects of water pollution on water quality. This research demonstrates that the adoption of environmental and water management strategies may be effective for the control and monitoring of water quality in the studied water bodies, particularly in Lago Dona Gercina and Lago Interlagos, which presented high levels of chlorophyll-a and turbidity, respectively.
Objective: To test spectral index models, surface turbidity, chlorophyll-a, and the Trophic State Index of urban lentic water bodies in Rio Verde (GO), for the year 2023, using remote sensing techniques.
