Abstract: This Final Course Project addresses the importance of sex education in high school, with an emphasis on the contributions of biology teaching to the comprehensive education of students. The study seeks to understand how the scientific and pedagogical approach to sexuality, mediated by biological content, influences the development of responsible, conscious, and respectful attitudes among adolescents. The research is qualitative in nature, based on a literature review and critical analysis of authors who discuss the role of schools and biology teachers in promoting sex education. It starts from the hypothesis that the absence of a systematic and continuous approach favors the perpetuation of taboos, prejudices, and misinformation. The results indicate that the inclusion of sex education in the curriculum, linked to biology content and developed in an ethical and interdisciplinary manner, contributes to strengthening self-esteem, preventing sexually transmitted infections, respecting diversity, and building critical thinking. It is concluded that biology teaching plays a fundamental role in promoting sex education, being an essential element for the integral development of students and for the formation of more informed and conscious citizens.

Abstract: Teacher training within undergraduate teacher education programs has gained prominence in contemporary educational discussions. In the pursuit of improved teaching quality, strategies have been developed to enhance training processes. Notable among these is the Pedagogical Residency Program (PRP), coordinated by CAPES, which offers pre-service teachers a deeper experience of the school environment. At the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology Goiano – Rio Verde Campus, the program involves residents from the Biological Sciences and Chemistry teacher education programs. This research aimed to identify the learning outcomes achieved by pre-service teachers during their participation in the PRP, focusing on the program's contributions to their training and teaching practice. The results demonstrate that immersion in the school and classroom fostered significant professional learning, particularly regarding the expansion of the residents' critical and reflective understanding of the challenges and possibilities of daily school life. Furthermore, the experience provided by the program not only contributed to the development of teaching knowledge but also strengthened the students' desire to pursue a teaching career. Thus, this immersion was perceived as a valuable opportunity to bring pre-service teachers closer to the reality of the teaching profession and to inspire them to commit to basic education.

Abstract: Memes are versatile tools that can be used in various disciplines, as they cover a wide range of &#xD;
themes. The term “meme” was initially created and used by biologist Richard Dawkins to &#xD;
designate a unit of cultural information, in analogy to the gene. This work is part of an activity &#xD;
developed within the scope of the Pedagogical Residency project of the Instituto Federal &#xD;
Goiano – Campus Urutaí and was carried out in public schools, namely Colégio Estadual Maria &#xD;
Benedita Velozo located in the city of Orizona/GO and Colégio Estadual Rodrigo Rodrigues &#xD;
da Cunha located in the city of Pires do Rio/GO in the years 2021 and 2022. Throughout the &#xD;
development of the project, a significant behavioral change among students was observed, &#xD;
since, through the tools available on the internet, it was possible to promote interaction between &#xD;
student-teacher and student-student within the virtual environment. The use of an innovative &#xD;
tool contributed to breaking a traditional teaching trend, allowing students to learn in a more &#xD;
dynamic and enjoyable way. It is concluded that the use of memes in the classroom fosters &#xD;
meaningful learning.

Abstract: Snakebite accidents represent a significant public health problem in Brazil, especially in regions with greater contact between the population and natural environments. This study aimed to analyze the epidemiological profile of snakebite accidents recorded in the microregion of Pires do Rio, in the state of Goiás, between 2007 and 2023. The research is epidemiological, descriptive, and retrospective in nature, with a quantitative approach, based on secondary data from the Notifiable Diseases Information System (SINAN). Information related to the victim profile, accident characteristics, snake genus involved, bite location, severity classification, and case outcomes was evaluated. The data indicate a predominance of accidents caused by snakes of the genus Bothrops, with a higher occurrence among males and economically active age groups (20 to 59 years old). Bites occurred mainly in the lower limbs, especially legs and feet. Regarding severity, cases classified as mild and moderate prevailed. Most cases resulted in recovery, with a low occurrence of deaths during the analyzed period. These results reinforce the importance of epidemiological surveillance and the availability of antivenom for the proper care of victims.
