Abstract: Periodontal disease is a chronic inflammatory condition that affects the
supporting tissues of the teeth, mainly caused by the accumulation of bacterial plaque
and dental calculus. It is more common in small-breed dogs and has a high prevalence
among adult animals. The disease often progresses silently, with halitosis being the
main sign noticed by the owner, but it can lead to local and systemic complications.
Diagnosis is based on anamnesis, oral examination, and radiographic findings.
Treatment varies according to the stage of the disease and generally involves surgical
procedures aimed at removing plaque and restoring periodontal structures. Daily tooth
brushing with veterinary dental products is the most effective preventive measure. This
study reports a severe case of periodontal disease in a Shih Tzu dog, which presented
a large amount of supragingival calculus on all teeth and an oronasal communication.
Diagnosis was established through clinical signs, physical examination, and
radiographs. Treatment included extraction of teeth with severe bone loss, removal of
root fragments, and antibiotic therapy. In the postoperative period, the animal
recovered as expected, without complications, and was active and eating normally. The
owner was advised to adopt preventive measures, including proper nutrition, weekly
tooth brushing, and quarterly follow-up appointments to avoid recurrence of periodontal.

Abstract: This Course Completion Work, presented in the format of an experience report, aims to highlight the importance of the Supervised Curricular Internship (SCI) and its contributions to learning and to the construction of teaching identity. The SCI, carried out during the Pedagogical Residency Program (PRP), is an essential component in teacher education, as it provides concrete and practical experiences that strengthen the professional identity development of future teachers. The methodology adopted was qualitative in nature, consisting of a descriptive and reflective experience report based on the records contained in the portfolio developed throughout the supervised internship within the PRP. The portfolio included classroom observations, lesson plans, critical reflections, and records of the pedagogical practices carried out, allowing the analysis of formative experiences and their contributions to the construction of teaching identity and the development of pedagogical competencies. This resource proved to be valuable for the development of autonomy and for building a more conscious and well-grounded pedagogical practice. Through classroom experience, direct contact with students, and interaction with experienced teachers, it was possible to articulate theory and practice, develop a reflective stance, and consolidate essential pedagogical knowledge for teaching practice. The importance of stages such as school diagnosis, lesson planning, classroom teaching practice, and the development of contextualized pedagogical projects became evident. These practices enhanced the understanding of school dynamics and expanded the intern’s ability to plan and intervene according to students’ real needs. During the program, projects were developed using active methodologies, low-cost experiments, and interactive resources, making Chemistry teaching more engaging and meaningful. These strategies contributed to connecting content to students’ realities, promoting more concrete, critical, and participatory learning. The reflection on these experiences showed that the SCI carried out through the PRP contributes not only to the improvement of pedagogical competencies but also to the critical, ethical, and professional development of the future teacher. It is a formative experience that consolidates the teaching process and strengthens the commitment to high-quality, contextualized, and socially relevant science education.

Abstract: Sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) is a crop of significant economic importance, especially as
a second crop alternative in Brazil. However, water deficit during the initial cycle can
compromise plant establishment and performance, making it necessary to adopt strategies that
increase stress tolerance. In this context, the use of bio-inputs and growth regulators in seed
treatment has been considered a promising alternative. Thus, the present study aimed to
evaluate the response of five sunflower hybrids subjected to water deficit and treated with
growth-promoting microorganisms and plant regulators. The experiment was conducted in a
randomized block design, in a factorial scheme 5 x 8, involving five hybrids and different
seed treatments based on Trichoderma asperellum, T. harzianum, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens,
growth regulator, and their combinations. After imposing water stress, the variables
emergence, plant height, stem diameter, root length, and number of leaf pairs were evaluated.
The results indicated a significant effect of the hybrids and treatments on most of the variables
analyzed, as well as interaction between the factors for characteristics related to initial growth.
In general, the H260, T204, and H250 hybrids showed better agronomic performance,
standing out mainly in terms of root development and stem diameter. Treatments containing
isolated microorganisms or associated with the growth regulator promoted increases in
emergence, height, and root length, showing potential for mitigating the effects of water
stress. However, certain combinations did not result in a positive response, indicating that the
efficiency of the treatments depends on the compatibility between the genotype and the
bioinput used. It is concluded that the genetic component has a decisive influence on the
response to water deficit, but the treatment of seeds with growth-promoting microorganisms
can contribute to better initial crop establishment. The adoption of these technologies,
associated with the appropriate choice of hybrid, represents a viable strategy to increase the
resilience of sunflowers under water-limited conditions.

Abstract: The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of body condition score (BCS) on pregnancy rate in Nellore cows submitted to fixed-time artificial insemination (FTAI) in an extensive cow–calf system at Arara Azul Farm, located in Natividade, Tocantins, Brazil. Zootechnical and reproductive records from the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 reproductive cycles were used, combined with on-farm observations of nutritional, health, and reproductive management. Data were organized in spreadsheets containing individual cow information and consolidated reports of the reproductive program (FTAI, pregnancy diagnoses, and bull exposure). The protocol included an intravaginal progesterone device and estradiol benzoate on Day 0, device removal with hormone applications on Day 8, and FTAI on Day 10, followed by bull exposure. No significant interaction was observed between reproductive cycle and parity, and neither factor affected pregnancy rate after the first FTAI; however, reproductive cycle affected pregnancy rate after bull exposure. An interaction between reproductive cycle and BCS was detected for final pregnancy rate, with higher performance at intermediate–high BCS in 2022/2023 and a more uniform pregnancy distribution in 2023/2024, especially at lower scores, suggesting effects of improved management and forage availability. It is concluded that BCS is a key indicator of reproductive efficiency and that nutritional and management adjustments favor higher final pregnancy rates in extensive systems.
