Título: O CERRADO QUE CURA Autor(es): Moreira, Gardjany Abstract: The use of natural resources is present throughout the Brazilian population, being more evident in traditional communities. However, a loss of this traditional knowledge is perceived, which is associated with the growing access and appreciation of conventional medicine, which often generates a devaluation of traditional knowledge by the new generations. Thus, the present work aims to verify the knowledge and use of medicinal plants in the quilombola community Mimbó, Amarante-PI. The methodology used was through interviews, printed forms, in order to understand issues of socioeconomic aspects, and about the medicinal plants used by the Mimbó community. This study brought important information for the organization and systematization of the knowledge about medicinal plants used by the quilombola community, aiming at a greater appreciation of the social role played by this group in biodiversity conservation. This institutional project of the IF Goiano is led by the Dean of Extension – NAIF (Núcleo de Arte e Cultura) in partnership with SIBI (Library System), the Directorate of Student Assistance and with the faculty of the area of ​​letters and literature, and has been taking place since 2013. The Project aims to stimulate the literary phenomenon and the pleasure of the text and create conditions that favor the practice of reading, research, information and reflection, instruments for the formation and exercise of citizenship. The project is coordinated by the Dean of Extension (Proex), through the Nucleus of Art and Culture of IF Goiano (NAIF) and in partnership with the Integrated Library System (SIBI). Since the last edition, we have had two major innovations: the inclusion of the poem contest and the opening of the project to the community in general, guaranteeing the extensionist commitment to serve the external public. Another important novelty in last year's edition and which also remains in this 2022 edition was the partnership between Farol Literário and Feira Literária do Vale do São Patrício (Flivasp), a literary event that takes place in Ceres-GO and brings together readers, writers, editors and lovers of literature in general. To assist candidates in writing short stories and poems, IF Goiano, in partnership with the organizers of Flivasp, held, in May 2022, two training workshops in the format of lives - one with short stories and the other with poems, taught by teachers Helissa Soares and Tarsilla de Brito. This e-book brings together the best short stories and poems by students, servers and community members outside IF Goiano. We continue with the intention of encouraging these authors to publicize their productions and, in this way, also stimulate the population's taste for reading, opening the horizons to different knowledge and contributing to a human and creative formation.
