Abstract: Slope stability is a fundamental aspect of geotechnical engineering and plays
a crucial role in ensuring the safety and performance of civil and environmental
engineering projects. Traditional slope stability assessments rely on limit equilibrium
methods, such as those developed by Fellenius, Bishop, Janbu, and others, which
evaluate the safety factor based on simplified assumptions about soil behavior. With
the evolution of computational tools, geotechnical software has made it possible to
conduct more realistic and complex simulations, enhancing the reliability of
engineering designs.
Recently, artificial intelligence techniques, especially machine learning, have
emerged as promising tools for improving slope stability analysis by better
addressing uncertainties and reducing the limitations of conventional methods. This
study proposes the development of a predictive model using machine learning
algorithms trained on simulated data generated from geotechnical software. The
objective is to evaluate the performance of different algorithms in estimating the
safety factor of slopes and to compare their accuracy and efficiency with traditional
methods. The research aims to contribute to the advancement of AI applications in
geotechnical engineering and to promote safer, more efficient design practices.

Abstract: The Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry has historically faced
challenges related to process fragmentation and communication failures, where the use of
traditional two-dimensional representations often results in incompatibilities detected only at
the construction site. In this context, Building Information Modeling (BIM) emerges as a
methodology capable of integrating information and multidisciplinary projects developed in
different software, and anticipating solutions. This study aimed to analyze the design
coordination process using the BIM methodology by applying clash detection techniques in a
case study of the Wave Garden Maringá commercial development. The methodology involved
structuring a federated model using Autodesk Navisworks software, integrating the
Architecture, Structure, and Installation disciplines. Automated tests based on a clash matrix
were conducted, followed by a critical analysis to filter false positives and manage conflict
resolution with the designers. The results indicated the identification of real conflicts (issues)
that required design corrections, in addition to presenting an estimate of cost optimization
derived from the prevention of rework. Thus, this work demonstrates the effectiveness of early
coordination in mitigating risks and ensuring the economic viability of complex projects.

Abstract: Accelerated urbanization promotes soil impermeabilization, leading to the overloading of drainage systems and an increase in flooding events. As a compensatory measure, green roofs emerge as an effective solution for rainwater retention at the source. This study aimed to evaluate the hydrological performance of an extensive green roof, constructed with geosynthetics, in comparison to a conventional roofing system. The methodology involved rainfall simulation tests with a critical intensity of 116.20 mm/h performed on 1.155 m² test modules. The Runoff Coefficient (C), retained volume, and runoff delay time were analyzed. The results demonstrated that the green roof reduced the Runoff Coefficient from 0.976 (conventional) to 0.826, providing water retention of 17.4% of the total precipitated volume. Furthermore, the system promoted an average delay in the start of runoff of 3 minutes and 48 seconds, an increase of nearly seven times compared to the conventional module (34 seconds). The geosynthetics used (geomembrane, drainage geocomposite) validated their technical functionality, ensuring the system’s watertightness and filtration. It is concluded that the extensive green roof is a viable and efficient alternative for mitigating peak flow in urban areas, such as the municipality of Rio Verde/GO.

Abstract: With the advent of monitoring technologies and analytical assays, water quality assessment has become an essential tool for supporting decision-making processes, both in public policy and in understanding societal behavior. Despite environmental legislation and recovery programs, many water bodies remain in unknown conditions, especially in urban areas. In this context, this study aimed to evaluate the influence of the Festa do Divino Pai Eterno, held in Trindade, Goiás, on the water quality of the Córrego Barro Preto, establishing a comparison of water quality before, during, and after the event. To this end, a literature review was conducted and three sampling points were defined. Water samples were analyzed for color, turbidity, pH, total phosphorus, dissolved oxygen, ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, electrical conductivity, total dissolved solids, and the presence of coliforms and Escherichia coli, in accordance with the parameters of the Water Quality Index (WQI). Laboratory analyses were carried out in partnership with the sanitation company Saneamento de Goiás (SANEAGO). The results indicated that the water body presents a high level of pollution, with emphasis on the presence of coliforms and total phosphorus above the limits established by Resolution CONAMA No. 357/2005. However, it was observed that the population increase during the festival period had little influence on water quality, which remained practically unchanged, reinforcing the role of daily land use as the predominant factor affecting the obtained indices. Therefore, it is concluded that the degradation of the Córrego Barro Preto is more closely related to continuous urban pressures than to the temporary impacts of the event, highlighting the importance of constant monitoring and the adoption of sustainable practices for urban water resource management.
